The materials of choice for gate construction are durable hardwoods such as sweet chestnut and oak. These materials are naturally durable and can be left untreated. Other hard woods, such as ash, may also be available and can be treated after seasoning to improve their durability. All our materials are sourced locally, sometimes from our own woodland. Where suitable trees are available, it may also be possible to utilise wood from the customers own land.
